Looking forward to Addis Foto Fest 2020!

I am pleased to announce that 2020 is off to a great start. I recently received news from Addis Foto Fest that a selection of images from my ongoing Muizenberg project will be included in the Festival’s sixth installment, taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in December (3rd-7th).

I feel fortunate to make the cut. Over 720 photographers from 96 countries applied, and the festival shows the work of just 100 finalists. I know it will be a big learning experience for me, and look forward to meeting the other participants at the end of the year.

Getting my photography into festivals and exhibitions has been challenging at times. But I think one has to keep persevering. (For more on my thoughts about that read my blog ‘On acceptance and rejection in photography.’)

I plan to post about the festival experience in December. I know it’s a long way off but watch this space for more toward the end of the year.
